The restaurant
Mezquida Restaurant was founded in 1982 by the Bolufer Catalá family. In its beginnings it was a modest place, where lunches and menus were served. Today, it has evolved a lot in all the aspects of the restoration. In the kitchen, directed by Mercedes and Mª Teresa, has merged the experience acquired from the parents, when it comes to preparing the typical dishes of the area in the most traditional way, with a more modern and current cuisine.
Day by day, we continue to innovate continuously with new dishes, ingredients, flavors and plating. All this without losing the essence and the good work of the most traditional dishes. As for the premises, it is divided into four dining rooms and a garden terrace. All this is coordinated by Guillermo and Cristóbal, as head waiters. Four brothers at the head of the business, lovers of the typical Mediterranean cuisine, and of the world of the restoration in general and with an experience of more than 30 years, continued of their parents D. Cristobal Bolufer and Ms. Josefa Catalá are the main team of the Mezquida Restaurant.
About Us
The Mezquida Restaurant is the ideal place to taste typical typical mediterranean dishes. Our cuisine is modern, but without losing the old customs in the preparation of the most traditional dishes, such as our rice dishes and paellas made with vine shoot wood.
We prepare top quality meats grilled, baked or in stew. The fish and seafood are brought daily from the fish market. With this fresh product, we prepare some traditional dishes from the coastal towns of the Valencian Community, such as our famous “Cruet de peix”. The bread is made by us, and a series of typical desserts of our land, which we prepare daily in our workshop.
Our air-conditioned dining rooms are decorated in a combination of rustic and modern styles, as well as our kitchen, which fuses modern and traditional cuisine.
We have been awarded several recognitions for our participation in the gastronomic days of Xàbia, we are members of the ARX “Asosicació de Restauradors de Xàbia”.
